The Word Latina is Now Synonymous with the Word Pioneer

What an exciting time to be alive! We are not only living in the era of women, but also the era of multicultural women. Every single day it feels like another glass ceiling has been shattered by a woman of color, each one of those milestones another step toward empowerment for all of us. We must acknowledge and honor the women who take chances, work hard and make these monumental changes in our cultural fabric, always remembering that they are paving the way.

As the Huffington Post recently wrote, “Latinas have been fighting for social, racial and reproductive justice right in our very own backyard for decades — even centuries. It’s about time we recognized their contributions to our nation, and gave them the props they deserve.”
